The Showstopper
There aren’t that many outfits or pieces that can stop people in their tracks, but I think I’ve seen a handful of them recently. Perhaps the best example (and most timely) is Cate Blanchett in her Givenchy Haute Couture gown at the 83rd Academy Awards. See what I’m saying? Riccardo Tisci seems unable to do any wrong by me.

Due Date
Lat night I watched the aforementioned movie, and I have to say I really enjoyed it. When it was in previews I was very hopeful for it, since everything about it seemed to be working in its favor (the cast, the director, the premise), but, as it was released, I didn’t end up hearing any buzz (probably because I was in Berlin), so I became a little skeptical. I finally watched it last...

Now on Sale: the Shredded Tee
I’ve decided I’m going to start selling t-shirts like the grey one I made myself a while ago due to popular demand. All t-shirts are hand-selected and hand-made by myself, making the shirts 100% customizable and no two the same. Specifications: Sizes: I recommend an oversized fit for the shirt to truly look and drape well, but all sizes of mens and womens shirts are available...

Kanye West - All of the Lights Mr. West strikes again! I always keep Kanye West on my video-radar, because he never seems to fall short of simply unbelievable videos. Whether for Jesus Walks, Through the Wire, Gold Digger, Stronger, Good Life, Flashing Lights, Love Lockdown, Amazing, Heartless, Paranoid, Power, Runaway (both the full-length film and the shortened music video), and now All of the...

Cee-Lo Green (with The Muppets and Gwyneth Paltrow) - Forget You Cee-Lo’s performance at the Grammy’s was, in many ways, unforgettable. I mean, I respect the man 1110% for the insane outfit, amazing set and concept, as well as the song (I mean, how could you not?). Plus, I love him more than life for his single and group discographies. Also, Gwenny has a much better voice than I...

ENTER THE VOID
Today I finally got around to watching Gaspard Noe’s film Enter The Void. What a film! Undeniably one of the best films I’ve seen in a long time, Enter The Void explores the concepts and theories laid out in the Tibetan Book of the Dead. Not only is it theoretically interesting, but the film itself is breathtaking, as well as being structurally unique and intriguing. A big part of...

On the Value of Friends (Part 1)
This is the beginning of a (potential) series wherein I’ll be writing about my friends, new and old, from the various eras of my life so far. This is my friend Richard (at the Hamburger Bahnhof Museum in Berlin). He was also attending NYU in Berlin the same semester I did, and during that time we became pretty good friends. He’s quite the renaissance man, in actuality - he plays a...

tortoiseshellrounds asked: Hey so I know we've never met before, but it seems like you're this super stylish, complete departure from a hipster, who is just an all around nice person.

Does this seem on par with reality?

And With a New Favorite Store...
Comes a new favorite blog! http://citizencouture.com/ Citizen Couture is a streetstyle blog, like The Sartorialist or Streetpeeper, but it feels like more than that to me. It’s very well designed, says the design nerd in me, and the content is great, says the fashion nerd in me - things that you can’t always say about other streetstyle blogs. Only pretty recently (a month or so)...

A New Favorite Store...
I finally got around to visit Saturdays Surf NYC this past weekend after over a year of meaning to, and I’m so mad at myself for putting it off this long! What a great little place they have going there. As someone who’s surfed a little and wants to a lot more, I love the idea of a store in NYC where you can buy things and engage in a lifestyle completely divergent from city life in...
